Kosovo fieldwork: Decani Monastery, UNESCO and community's claims

Kosova/Kosovo fieldwork notes extracts

At 10.30pm on the 14th of July 2005, I noted that, according to some Vetevendosje (Self-determination) members:
'UNESCO are trying to say Decan [Decani]'s Serbian... It has two double-headed eagles in it... but they only say there's Ottoman and Serbian stuff'. [It was the Vetevendosje activists who used Serb and Serbian interchangeably.]

I made a point of the fact that:
I doubt it, but [it's] definitely worth investigating - esp. if 'UNESCO are trying to make Decan Monastery [or with its site's Serbian language spelling, Decani Monastery] Serbian' and 'trying to deny it's Albanian too'.
